Divisions

Students at EDMES will be entered into one of three divisions:

• Primary (K - Grade 2)

• Intermediate (Grade 3 - 5)

• Special Artist (All grades)

The Special Artist Division welcomes students from all grades and abilities and offers non-artistic accommodations (e.g. adaptive technology; transcribing; holding a camera) for students to participate fully in PTA Reflections.  Click here for rules for Special Artist Division

Entries

​

Entries must be new artwork inspired by this year's theme.

​

Each entry must be the original work of one student only.  An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work.

​

Each entry must contain a title and all entries must include an artist statement. The artist statement communicates what inspired the work, how it relates to the theme, and the content of the work. The statement must include at least 10 words and not exceed 100 words.  The artist statement is 40% of the overall score.

Adults may not edit, correct spelling, or assist with the artist statement.  For very young artists, e.g. kindergarten, an adult may record the artist statement as provided verbally by the artist.
