The PTA helps make EDMES a better school in two ways:
We raise money by holding fundraisers like the Calendar Raffle and the Mobile School Store. Money that goes toward classroom materials, class field trips, the super awesome Virtual Reality machine your kids keep talking about, etc. Basically, we work with the EDMES staff to make sure the kids have the resources and materials they need to foster a love of learning.
We encourage community by hosting low or no cost family events like Cupcake Wars, outdoor movies, trivia nights and other social events. These events are planned and staffed by PTA and school volunteers. The activities give our students a chance to have fun and make great memories with their friends and families.
Membership gives you the opportunity to vote at meetings on events, budgeting, and become board members.
Everyone is welcome at the monthly PTA meetings: moms, dads, grandparents, etc. You don’t need to be a paying member to attend meetings, just to vote at them.
Meetings provide a great opportunity to hear in advance about what’s going on at the school, meet some of the teachers, get face time with Mr. Fox, and have a voice in upcoming events.
Meetings are typically the first Monday of every month at 6:30pm.
Members and non-members are invited (and encouraged) to volunteer – even if you only have 30 minutes to spare. It takes a village to create a community and the more of us who help the more we can do for the EDMES teachers, students and families!
